> Put one customer on different terms from everyone else, say 7 days when you normally give 14, and every new invoice for them is due on their terms.

Your usual payment terms live in Settings, one set for homes and one for businesses. Some customers don't fit either. A developer you've agreed 7 days with, a landlord on 30, a one-off you want paid on receipt. You can put those on the customer.

## Where it lives

Open the customer, scroll to **Notes & flags**, and tap **Record how they pay** (or **Change how they pay** if you've already filled it in).

Under **Payment terms**, pick **Due on receipt**, **7**, **14**, **30** or **60 days**, or **Custom…** to type any number of days up to a year. Picking one fills in the wording that prints on their invoices, like *"Payment due within 7 days"*. You can change that wording if you want to say it your own way.

Save, and the record shows their terms under **Payment terms**.

## What it does

Every **new** invoice for that customer is due on their terms instead of your usual ones. That covers invoices you raise yourself, ones raised from a job or a quote, ones Mucka drafts for you, and staged invoices on a project.

As with your usual terms, the clock starts when you **send** the invoice, not when you draft it.

## Putting them back on your usual terms

Open the same sheet, set **Payment terms** back to **Your usual terms**, and Save.

## Common gotchas

- **Invoices already raised don't change.** It applies to new invoices only. If a draft is sitting there on the old date, change the due date on that invoice.
- **A choice you make on one invoice still wins.** Picking an invoice template with its own terms, or typing a due date on the invoice, beats the customer's terms for that invoice.
- **Deposit invoices are still due when the customer accepts the quote.** That's the point of a deposit, so their terms don't move it.
- **Keep the wording and the days the same.** Your customer reads the wording, but Mucka's chase-ups go by the days. If they say different things, the sheet tells you.
- **Changing it needs permission to edit contacts.** Anyone who can open the customer can see their terms.
