> Invoices and quotes that came across as documents sit on the customer's own record, under the name of the system they came from.

When we move you across from another system, some of your paperwork comes over as the original documents rather than as records Mucka can work with. Those sit on the customer they were addressed to.

## Where to find them

Open the customer, then look for **Paperwork** in the right-hand column. Underneath your quotes, invoices and certificates you'll see a heading naming the system the documents came from — **From Gas Engineer Software**, for instance — and the documents listed below it, newest first.

Tap one and the original opens in a new tab, exactly as your old system produced it.

## Why they look different to your Mucka invoices

These are the documents themselves, not figures Mucka can add up. You'll see what each one is and the date on it, and no amount.

That's deliberate. We'd have to read the total off the page to show you one, and a number we'd worked out that way would sit on screen looking exactly like a number you raised in Mucka. If one of them were wrong you'd have no way of telling. The document is the record, so we show you the document.

For the same reason nothing here can be sent, edited, chased or paid, and none of it counts towards your figures in Mucka.

## This isn't the same as your invoice history

If you came from Commusoft, or you connected Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent, your invoices came across as proper records with their line items and totals — those are in their own list at [**Invoices**](/invoices), under the link that says how many came from before Mucka. See [Find an invoice from before Mucka](/help/invoices/find-an-old-invoice).

You may well have both. Which one a document lands in depends on what your old system handed over: figures we were given go in the invoice history, documents we were only given as PDFs go on the customer.

## If something's on the wrong customer

Tell us and we'll move it. When we import, each document is filed against the customer it's addressed to; a handful on any run can't be placed confidently, and we'd rather leave those with you on the review sheet than guess and put your paperwork on somebody else's record.
