# When a job goes quiet

> Mucka spots a job whose day has been and gone and is still open, and offers to chase the engineer for you. You see the message before it goes.

You shouldn't have to remember which jobs you never heard back about. Mucka keeps an eye on it.

## What Mucka spots

Each morning Mucka looks over your open jobs. If one was booked for yesterday or earlier and it's
still sitting there unfinished, you'll get a card:

> **No Update** — Euan Jackson's boiler service at Neil Davidson's was booked for yesterday and is
> still open, with no sign it was started. Shall I ask how it went?

It'll also flag a job that's running well over the time it was booked for while it's still on the go.

Mucka only raises this for jobs with someone assigned to them. If nobody's on it, there's nobody to
ask, so it stays quiet.

## Chasing it

Tap **Review Message** and you'll see exactly what Mucka wants to send:

> Hi Euan, how did you get on with the boiler service at Neil Davidson's yesterday? Just after a
> quick update when you get a sec.

Change any of it you like — it's your message, not Mucka's. Then tap **Ask how it went** and it
goes to their WhatsApp. They can reply with a voice note, a photo, or just type.

Nothing is sent until you approve it. If you'd rather ring them, dismiss the card.

## Where the answer goes

Open the job and you'll see the whole story in one place, newest first:

- **Check-in** — Asked Euan Jackson for an update by WhatsApp: "How did you get on?"
- Euan's reply, once it comes in
- Any notes you or the team have added

Your own notes can be deleted. The check-ins and replies can't — they're a record of what actually
happened.

## If you can't reach them

If someone hasn't got WhatsApp and hasn't got the app, Mucka will tell you straight and give you
their number so you can ring them. It won't pretend the message went.

Worth adding mobile numbers for everyone in **Settings → Team → People** so this always has somewhere to go.

## Why a job might be sitting open

Nine times out of ten the work got done and nobody closed the job off. That's still worth knowing —
an open job doesn't get invoiced, and it makes your diary look busier than it is. A quick "all
sorted mate" and you can mark it done.
