> When you sign off an installation record, Mucka gets the registration ready — make, model, serial and GC number already filled in — and hands you straight to your own manufacturer account, so your loyalty points stay yours.

A new boiler has to be registered with its manufacturer within **30 days** of being fitted. That one registration does three jobs at once: it starts the customer's extended warranty, it notifies Gas Safe under Building Regulations, and it earns you your loyalty points.

Miss the 30 days and the customer's warranty drops from up to twelve years to twelve months. They usually find out years later, when they try to claim.

## What Mucka does

Approve an **Installation / Commissioning / Decommissioning Record** and Mucka raises a registration for each appliance you fitted, then opens it straight away — while you are still standing in front of the boiler.

Everything is already there:

- Make, model, serial number and GC number, read off the data badge when you photographed it
- The date you fitted it
- The address and postcode
- Your Gas Safe licence number

Tap any of them to copy it, then paste it into the manufacturer's app. Each one ticks once you have copied it, so when you come back from the other app you can see where you got to. The serial number is the one worth having — it is a long string off a plate in a dark cupboard and it is the one everybody mistypes.

## Why Mucka does not just do it for you

Because it would cost you your points.

The manufacturers have no way for another app to register on your behalf, and the loyalty points go to **whichever account the registration is submitted through**. If Mucka submitted it, the points would not be yours.

So Mucka takes you to your own account — Ideal Installer Connect, Worcester VAULT, Baxi Works, Vaillant and Glow-worm myREWARDS, Ferroli Installersmate — and you press the button there. Your points, your account, no typing.

Registering this way also means you are not paying to notify Gas Safe separately. Most manufacturers cover that fee as part of registration.

## Sending it to the right place

Mucka works out the scheme from the make on the data badge, and always shows you where it is about to send you:

> Registering with **Installer Connect** — Change

If that is wrong, tap **Change** and pick the right one. Worth knowing that one scheme often covers several brands — Baxi Works handles Baxi, Main, Potterton, Megaflo and Heatrae Sadia, and Vaillant and Glow-worm share myREWARDS.

If Mucka does not recognise the make, it asks rather than guessing. Register it wherever you normally would, then put the reference in.

## Recording that it is done

Once the manufacturer gives you a reference number, paste it into **Reference number** and save.

Until you do that, the boiler still counts as not registered — even if you have already tapped through to the portal. Mucka knows you opened the app; it has no way of knowing you finished. That is deliberate: a tick that appears before the job is done is how a boiler ends up never registered and nobody notices.

## Who registers, and whose points

Some firms let the engineer who fitted it register it, so the points are theirs. Others do it all from the office into one company account.

Set it once in **certificate settings** under **Boiler registration**. It is also one of the questions Mucka asks when you first add the certificates skill, so it is right from the start.

Mucka defaults to the engineer, because that is how most firms work — and points that land in the wrong account cannot be moved back out.

## What is not here yet

- **Chasing.** Telling you what is still unregistered before the 30 days runs out, and an owner's list of everything outstanding, is the next piece of work.
- **Signing off with no signal.** If you approve the certificate offline, the registration appears once your phone syncs rather than there and then on site.
- **Oil.** The manufacturer schemes Mucka routes to are gas boiler schemes for now.
