> Moving from ServiceM8? Your client and job lists come from the Reports tab, which needs ServiceM8's Advanced Reporting Pack, and your photos and forms need a separate backup. Here's what to press, what comes across, and why ServiceM8 deletes everything the moment you cancel.

Coming across from ServiceM8? The Mucka team does the import for you. What we need from you is the data, and ServiceM8 gives it in two parts: three lists from its Reports tab, and a backup of everything else.

You need to be the **business owner** on the ServiceM8 account for both. Nobody else can see the Reports tab.

## Your client, job and recurring job lists

These come from the **Reports** tab of the ServiceM8 online dashboard, as spreadsheets. They need ServiceM8's **Advanced Reporting Pack** add-on: if you don't see them, go to **Settings → ServiceM8 Add-ons**, search for it and switch it on.

Then, from **Reports**, download:

- **Client List**, every client you have
- **Job List**, your job history
- **Recurring Job List**, if you use recurring jobs (this one also needs ServiceM8's recurring jobs add-on)

## Your photos, forms and documents

None of those three lists has a single photo, attachment or completed form in it, and for a gas business the forms are every gas safety record you hold. So make a full backup as well, and send it to us with the lists.

In ServiceM8, go to **Settings → ServiceM8 Account** and click **Download account backup**, at the bottom of the page, then **Create Backup**. It can take a few minutes or a few hours, and ServiceM8 emails you when it's ready. You can only make one a day.

We don't have an importer for the backup itself, so tell us which of your forms and documents you need in Mucka and we'll work out the best way to get them across. Either way it's your copy of everything once the account is gone.

Your materials and price list export separately, from **Settings → Materials → Export Items**.

## What to ask ServiceM8 for

The lists leave out your **invoice line items and invoice numbers**, and the backup is ServiceM8's own format. So ask ServiceM8 support for the things that matter most as files we can use:

<EmailTemplate
  id="email-servicem8-support"
  to="support@servicem8.com"
  subject="Request for a full export of my data"
  body="Hi,

I'm moving my business to a new system and need a full copy of my data, please. I've already downloaded my Client List, Job List and Recurring Job List from the Reports tab. Could you send me:

1. Every completed form and certificate as a PDF, showing which job and client each one belongs to.

2. My invoices with their line items and invoice numbers.

3. The photos and attachments on each job.

4. My diary: every appointment, past and booked.

A download link is fine.

My account is [your business name], and I log in with [the email address you use for ServiceM8].

Thanks,
[your name]"
/>

### Or ask Mucka to send it

If you've got the Inbox skill and your email connected, just say *"email ServiceM8 for my data"*. Mucka writes the request, reads it back to you, and sends it from your own email address once you say yes. When ServiceM8 reply with the files, Mucka puts a card in front of you asking whether to send them to the Mucka team. See [Ask your old software for your data](/help/getting-started/ask-your-old-software-for-your-data).

## Send them to us

Attach the files to a support ticket. Open [**Settings → Support**](/settings/support/support), or just tell Mucka *"I'm moving from ServiceM8, here are my exports"* and it'll raise one for you. Send them as they come; no need to tidy or rename anything.

## What comes across

We've built an importer for ServiceM8's lists:

- **Every client**, with their contact details
- **Every job address as its own property**, so a landlord or a managing agent arrives with their buildings, not a pile of jobs at their own office
- **Your job history**, with the category you gave each job written on it
- **An invoice for every job ServiceM8 shows as billed**, and only those. A job you quoted and lost carries a figure in ServiceM8 too, and we leave it out rather than billing it
- **A service reminder for each recurring job**

Two things to be straight about.

**Old invoices come across as one line at the total.** ServiceM8's lists carry no line items, no invoice numbers and no VAT rate, so we don't invent them.

**If you're leaving another system at the same time**, we bring ServiceM8 in first and match the other one against it, so a customer who's in both arrives once. Anyone we can't be sure about goes on a list for you to check rather than being merged on a guess.

## Before you cancel

**Don't cancel your ServiceM8 subscription until we've told you we've got everything.** When a ServiceM8 account is cancelled, ServiceM8 removes all its data straight away and it can't be recovered. There's no read-only access afterwards.
