> Every job has one place for each thing. On a computer the status button moves it on, and on your phone the orange button does. Here's where things live on a computer, on your phone when you're on the job, and on your phone when you're keeping an eye on someone else's.

Open a job and you see whose it is, where it is, and how to move it on. Everything else has **one** place on the page, so there's never two buttons for the same thing and never any hunting.

Which layout you get depends on what you're doing, not on your job title. If you're on the job, your phone shows it the way you need it on site. If you're keeping an eye on somebody else's job, it shows you where it's up to. Owners who go out on the tools get the on-site layout for their own jobs, with the owner bits one tap down.

## On a computer

**Across the top:** back, the job's number and type, the customer's name, when it's booked and who's on it. On the right, **Call**, **Message** and **More**.

**Under that:** the progress line (**Booked**, **On my way**, **On site**, **Done**) with the times each step happened. It's there to read, not to click. At the end of it is the **status button**: the stage the job is on now, with a little arrow. Click it for the list of stages, with the next step marked, and pick one to move the job on or put it at any stage you're allowed to set. Going back past a time somebody recorded asks you once first. On a pencilled job, **Book it in** is first in that list. To raise or send the invoice for a finished job, it's **Paperwork and money** → **New** → **Invoice**. A day of a project rests at **Completed**, because you invoice the whole project from the project.

**Down the page**, in sections you can open and close, each with its own icon:

<Bullets>
- **The work**: what the job is, the quoted scope and your private notes.
- **On site**: photos, files, materials, parts and the time on site. **Add to this visit** is here: **Photo or video**, **Material or receipt**, **Part**, **File**.
- **Paperwork and money**: quotes, invoices, certificates and job sheets on the job. **New** is here: **Quote**, **Invoice**, **Certificate**, **Job sheet**, **Form**, **Survey**.
- **History**: the note box and everything that's happened on the job.
</Bullets>

**Down the right-hand side:** the customer, the address and how to get in (key safe, parking, the door pin), and a **Money** card with what it's worth, what's been charged and any card on file.

**More** holds the rest: **Edit details**, **Reschedule**, **Book another job**, **Couldn't get in**, and **Cancel job** last.

## On your phone, when you're on the job

**At the top:** the job's card: its number, the **status** (tap it to change it), the customer's name, when it's booked, who's on it and the address, a bar showing how far along it is, and a line saying where the job is ("On the way · 14 min away"). Along the bottom of the card, **Navigate** (until you arrive), **Call** and **Message**.

**At the bottom:** the big orange button. It moves with the job:

<Bullets>
- **On my way** when you set off, with **Can't get in** beside it.
- **I've arrived** when you get there. If your boss uses the job timer, it says **Start work**, and one tap starts your timer and marks you on site.
- **Finish job** once you're on site, with a **+** beside it for **Camera**, **Note**, **Material**, **Part**, **File** and **Form**.
</Bullets>

**More** is the round **⋯** button at the right-hand end of that bottom row.

**Finish job** doesn't close the job straight away. It opens **Before you go**: any certificate first, then the write-up, then the customer's sign-off. When they're done, the button says **Mark done**, or **Done for today** on any day of a job over several days except the last, which finishes that day only. If your boss asks for a signature on every job, it says **Get it signed** first. Changed your mind? **Not finished yet** takes you back.

**Further down:** **Getting in**, **The work**, **This visit**, **Paperwork** and **Money** (raise or send an invoice, take a payment), and **History**. Each opens with a tap.

**More** holds the rest, in groups: **This job** (**Edit details**, **Reschedule**), **Customer and place** (the customer and the property), **More work** (**Quote for more work**, **Book another job**), and **Cancel job** on its own at the bottom if you're allowed to change jobs. If you're not, **Reschedule** is **Ask the office to move it**: type what you need ("can this go to Thursday, waiting on a part") and it goes to whoever runs the office, with the job attached.

## On your phone, when you're keeping an eye on it

If the job isn't yours, your phone shows where it's up to rather than the on-site buttons:

<Bullets>
- **At the top**, the job's card: the status, the customer's name (tap it for their record), the address (tap it for directions), a bar showing how far along it is, and where it's up to and since when ("Dan is on site since 09:12"). On a pencilled job it has **Book it in**.
- **The work**, **Paperwork and money** and **History**, each one line until you open it.
- **At the bottom**, **Call** and **Message**, with **More** (the **⋯**) at the right-hand end.
</Bullets>

There's no orange button: the person on the job moves it along. If you need to put it somewhere else, tap the status on the card. **Getting in**, **Couldn't get in** and **Add to this job** are under **More** too.

## Message

**Message** gives you whichever of these fit: **Text from your phone** (your own Messages app), **WhatsApp from the business** (only if you've connected your WhatsApp Business number), **Email from Mucka**, and **Ask for photos** (a link for the customer to send you photos or a short video, if you're allowed to change jobs). See [Texting your customers](/help/clients/texting-your-customers) for how the WhatsApp one works, and [Ask a customer for photos](/help/jobs/ask-a-customer-for-photos) for the photo link.

## Ask Mucka

You don't have to find anything. Just ask:

- "Mark me as on my way"
- "Add a note to the Bell Lane job"
- "What's left on the Whitfield job?"
