> The customer's own copy of what you did, with the photos and anything you'd suggest next. It comes off the same write-up as the job sheet, so nobody fills anything in twice.

A job report is the copy the customer keeps: what you did, what it looked like, and anything worth doing next. It goes out after the visit, by email, with a PDF attached.

**It is not a second form.** This is the bit worth reading twice. If you have job sheets on as well, your engineer fills in **one** thing at the door and issuing it produces both documents: the job sheet he gets signed, and the customer's report. Same write-up, same photos, one job. Nobody types anything twice.

Reports come with the **Job Sheets & Reports** skill, and they're switched **off** to start with. Add the skill from the Skills page and Mucka asks what you want out of a job — tick **A job report, for the customer** and you're set. If you've already got the skill, it's one tick in Settings — and there's a cog on the skill's card on the Skills page that takes you straight there.

## What your engineer does

Exactly what he already does, plus two screens:

1. **What did you do?** The write-up. He can talk it instead of typing it.
2. **Any photos for the customer?** He ticks the ones that should go on the report. Only the ones he ticks. The rest stay on the job, which matters, because the job's photos also hold receipts, meter readings and the state somebody left the airing cupboard in.
3. **Anything worth doing next?** Free text, and the same microphone. This is where the next quote usually comes from. Leave it empty and nothing prints.

If you have job sheets on, he gets the signature screen too and the sheet is signed as normal. If you only have reports on, there's no signature step: a report isn't signed, it's sent.

## Sending it

Issuing does **not** send it. Nothing goes to a customer without you pressing send.

Open the report from the job, under Paperwork, and tap **Send it to the customer**. The subject and the message are already written and you can change every word of them. The report goes with it as a PDF.

Until it's gone, the job says so: the row under Paperwork reads "Job report, not sent yet". Once it's gone, the report's own Record block says when.

## What's on it, and what isn't

On it: the job number and dates, the customer, the site address, who attended and when, what you did, the photos he picked, anything he'd suggest next, the parts used, and your guarantee line.

**Not on it, on purpose:**

- **Your own job notes.** They're your running commentary, not the customer's reading. They never go on a report and they never go on a sheet either.
- **Prices.** The report says what was done. The invoice says what it comes to. Two documents saying different numbers about the same job is an argument you don't need, so parts show what was fitted and how many, and nothing else.
- **Time on site.** Off by default. Switch it on if you bill by the hour and want it shown.

A section with nothing in it never prints. No photos ticked, no Photos box. Nothing suggested, no suggestions box. Nobody gets a report with "Parts: blank" on it.

## Setting yours up

Settings, then **Work**, then **Job paperwork**. The top card is where you turn reports on; the **Job reports** card below it is the rest.

- **On completion.** Whether marking a job done asks for the paperwork. Off, and nobody's asked. Your engineers can still do one on any job whenever they want, because the setting is about being asked, not about being allowed.
- **What's on the report.** Which sections appear. This changes new reports only.
- **Guarantee.** One line about what you stand behind, printed at the foot of every report. Something like "12 months parts and labour on everything we fit". Leave it empty and nothing prints: Mucka will never make a promise on your behalf. And whatever it says when a report goes out is what that report keeps, even if you change it later.
- **Which job types.** Same as the job sheet row. With the setting above off, pick the job types you always want a report on. With it on, pick the ones you don't.

## Getting something wrong

You can't edit a report once it's issued, the same as a job sheet. You make a **correction**, which is a new report with its own number. The original stays there as the record of what the customer was actually sent, right up until you issue the replacement.

Correcting the report doesn't touch the job sheet, and correcting the sheet doesn't produce a second report. They're separate documents from the same visit.

## Numbers

Reports are numbered JR-0001, JR-0002 and on, and they're separate from your job sheet numbers. A job with both has a JS number and a JR number, which is what lets a customer ring up quoting one and you find the right document.
