# View your work offline Source: https://help.mucka.ai/mobile/view-your-work-offline Category: Mobile app Last updated: 2026-09-05 > When you lose signal, Mucka still shows a saved copy of your jobs, schedule, clients and notes — and you can still move a job along, fill in and sign off certificates, use the calculators and take the customer's signature with no connection at all. Basements, plant rooms, tower blocks, the middle of nowhere. Signal drops and you still need to know whose job you're on and where you're headed next. Mucka keeps a saved copy of your key info on your phone so you can read it even with no bars. ## What you can see offline If you lose signal while you're using the app, you don't need to go anywhere. Tap the **No connection** bar at the top, or tap any of the nav buttons at the bottom, and your saved work opens right there over whatever you were on. If you open the app fresh with no signal, Mucka shows the same saved copy straight away. If Mucka can't get through when it opens, it says **Can't reach Mucka** and keeps trying in the background. The moment it gets a connection it opens the app itself, so there's nothing to tap and nothing to wait for. If you opened it by tapping a notification, it still takes you to the job that notification was about. Either way, Mucka shows you the last saved copy of: - **Diary**: today's work first, then the days ahead, with times and addresses - **Jobs**: your jobs list, which you can search - **Clients**: your client list (if your role can see it) - **Certs**: your certificates, if your business uses them - **Job detail**: status, time, address, the client's phone and email, and any notes on the job - **Client detail**: contact details and notes Tap a phone number to call or an address to open maps. Those work through your phone even when the app is offline. ## How fresh it is Mucka saves a fresh copy whenever you open the app with signal. At the top of the offline screen you'll see **"Saved 5 min ago"** (or however long it's been) so you always know how recent it is. There's nothing to switch on. As long as you've opened Mucka on that phone while you had signal, your info is saved and ready for the next notspot. ## What you can still DO with no signal Reading is only half of it. Four things you actually do on site work with no bars at all, because that's where you need them most: a cellar, a plant room, a boiler cupboard. - **Moving the job along.** **On my way**, **Arrived** and **Done** all work offline. Tap it and the job moves on your phone there and then; Mucka holds it and sends it when you're back in range. It keeps **the time you tapped**, not the time it sent, so a job you arrived at in a basement goes down at the time you arrived. - **Certificates.** The whole thing — see below. - **The gas calculators.** Gas rate, installation volume, ventilation and pipe sizing. - **The customer's signature.** The one thing on a job you can't come back and do later. Because **Arrived** works offline, the certificate button on the job turns up offline too. That used to be the sticking point: no signal meant you couldn't say you'd arrived, and the certificate wouldn't open until you had. One thing that deliberately waits: if your business texts customers when you press **On my way**, that text isn't sent hours later off the back of a queue. A customer can't tell a late text from a wrong one, and "I'm on my way" landing after you've been and gone is worse than nothing. ## Certificates are different Certificates are the most complete of the four, because that's where you need it most: a cellar, a plant room, a boiler cupboard with no bars. Open the job and tap **Start it** on the certificate prompt, or go to the **Certs** tab and start one from there. Either way you can fill it in, take your evidence photos, get the signatures and sign it off with no connection at all. It saves to the phone as you go and uploads itself the moment you're back in signal. The Certs tab also lists what you've got saved, so you can pick up a certificate someone started earlier without going hunting through jobs for it. If a certificate isn't saved on your phone it says **Not saved** rather than just refusing to open. While you've got no connection you can't: - Make changes to jobs, add notes, or move jobs - Send anything, including emailing a certificate to a customer - Talk to Mucka or use the assistant (Mucka needs a live connection to work) You'll see a small **"No connection"** bar so you know you're offline. Tapping the microphone will tell you Mucka needs a connection rather than sitting there doing nothing. ## When you're back online The moment your signal returns, the saved-work view shows a **"You're back online"** note with a **Reload** button. It doesn't jump you back on its own, so you never lose your place mid-read. Tap **Back to app** to return to what you were on, or **Reload** to refresh the full app. Your saved copy refreshes on its own next time you open Mucka with signal. ## Common gotchas - **"Nothing's saved yet."** You haven't opened Mucka on this phone with signal since installing. Open it once with a connection and you're set. - **You tapped a notification and got an offline screen, but you've got bars.** Waking the phone and opening the app can beat the signal coming back by a second or two. Mucka keeps trying on its own and opens as soon as it's through — you shouldn't need to do anything. If it's still sat there after a few seconds, tap **Reconnect**. - **Some jobs won't open offline.** Mucka saves full detail for a set number of jobs, starting with your own work for today and then the week ahead. Anything past that shows in the list with a small **Not saved** label instead of an arrow. Tap it and Mucka will tell you the same thing. Nothing is lost, it just isn't on the phone: the job opens as normal once you're back in signal. - **Clients list looks empty offline.** If your role doesn't include seeing the whole client book, the list stays empty offline, but the client's contact details still show on your own jobs.
