> When the customer comes back to you, turn the reminder into a job in one step so the work, the reminder and the money all stay joined up.

You've sent the reminder and the customer has said yes. Rather than going off to [**Jobs**](/jobs) and typing it all in again, book it straight in from the reminder. Mucka carries over the client, the property and the service, and remembers that this job came from that reminder.

## From a service reminder

1. Open [**Service Reminders**](/service-reminders) and tap the reminder.
2. Tap **Book it in**.
3. Pick the date, the start time, how long you need and (if you know) the engineer.
4. Tap **Book it in** again.

The job appears in your diary and the reminder moves to **Booked in**, with a link straight to the job.

Mucka fills in sensible defaults: the job type is the service name, the date opens on the due date (or tomorrow, if it's already overdue), and the notes say where the work came from. Change any of it before you save.

If the engineer you pick is already busy at that time, Mucka warns you and gives you the option to book it anyway. Same clash check you get anywhere else in the diary.

## From a gas certificate

Gas certificates work the same way. Open an issued certificate from [**Gas Certs**](/gas-certs) and you'll see a **Re-inspection due** strip at the bottom with the date the next check is due. Tap **Book it in** and the follow-up visit is created and linked back to that certificate.

Once it's booked, the strip changes to **Re-inspection booked** with a link to the job, so you can't accidentally book the same re-inspection twice.

## Why the link matters

It isn't just tidiness. Because the job remembers which reminder it came from, Mucka can:

- **Close the loop for you.** Mark the job complete and the reminder is marked done, with next year's already scheduled. No going back to the list.
- **Show you what the reminders are worth.** Mucka can follow a reminder through to the job and then to the invoice, so the recurring work you win off reminders is measurable rather than a feeling.

## If you booked it outside Mucka

No problem, and nothing breaks. If you created the job the normal way instead of using **Book it in**, the reminder stays on **Reminder sent**. Open it and tap **Mark done** once the work is finished, and it will roll the next one forward exactly the same. You just won't get the automatic close or the link back to the job.

## Who can do this

Booking a reminder in creates a job, so it needs the **Create jobs** permission. Owners and admins have it by default; engineers don't, so they won't see the button. Change that under [**Settings → Team → People → Roles**](/settings/team/roles) if you want your engineers booking follow-up work themselves.
