# Tell Mucka how you like things

> Say "call me Mr Smith" or "keep it to one line" once, and Mucka remembers. Standing preferences stick across chat, voice, phone and WhatsApp — and they're yours alone.

The two personality sliders cover the broad strokes — friendly or formal, cheeky or straight. Standing preferences are for everything else: the specific things you want Mucka to do differently, in your words.

Just say it, and Mucka saves it.

## Saying it

> *"Call me Mr Hargreaves, not Dave."*
> *"Say 'yes boss' instead of 'on it'."*
> *"Keep your answers to one line unless I ask for more."*
> *"Stop asking me if I'm sure every time."*
> *"Call me Big Dog."*

That last one is a real thing you can do, and Mucka will keep a straight face about it.

Mucka saves it there and then and tells you it's done. From your next message on, it holds — in the chat panel, on voice, on the phone, and on WhatsApp. You don't have to say it again.

If Mucka says it's saved, it's saved. It won't tell you it'll remember something and then quietly not — if it can't save something, it says so instead.

## Changing your mind

If Mucka isn't sure which one you mean, it'll read back what it's holding and ask. It won't guess, because dropping the wrong one is the sort of thing you'd never notice.

You can also just ask *"what have you got saved for me?"* at any time.

## They're yours alone

Nobody else on your team has your preferences, and nobody else can see them — not even the owner. If you call yourself the guv'nor and Marcus doesn't, that's between you and your Mucka.

## What this is for, and what it isn't

Preferences are about **how Mucka talks to you**. Two things go elsewhere:

- **Facts about a client, a job or the business** belong on the record, where the whole team can see them. "The Hartley gate code is 4821" is a note on the client, not a preference — put it there and everyone benefits.
- **Business settings** — payment terms, how long a job type takes, the automatic texts your customers get — have real settings behind them. Ask Mucka to change one of those and it'll change the actual setting, which is what you want: a preference would look right to you and change nothing for anybody else.

Mucka knows the difference and will point you the right way.

## The limits

- **Up to 20 preferences**, each a sentence or two. If you hit the limit Mucka tells you, reads back what it's holding, and offers to drop one.
- **They only change the manner.** A preference never changes the facts Mucka gives you, never unlocks anything you couldn't already get at, and can't talk Mucka into ignoring how it's meant to work.
- **They don't follow you between businesses.** If you're on more than one Mucka account, each one keeps its own set — how you like to be spoken to at one firm isn't a fact about you everywhere.
