Mark a quote rejected when you don't win the work

Tell Mucka a quote is dead so it stops chasing it, and say why in one tap. Over time that builds a picture of what actually costs you jobs.

You won't win them all. When a customer says no, tell Mucka — it takes one tap, it stops the chasing on that quote, and it starts building up the answer to a question most firms can only guess at: why are we losing work?

Where the button is

Two places, and they do exactly the same thing.

  • On the Quotes page, a quote you've sent shows Resend, Accepted and Rejected.
  • On the card where Mucka is chasing that quote for you (in Actions), Rejected sits alongside Approve and Dismiss.

What happens when you tap it

Mucka asks one short question: why didn't you win it? Pick the closest:

  • Price too high
  • Went with someone else
  • Timing didn't work
  • Job cancelled
  • They didn't say

There's a box underneath if you want to add your own words — "said Baxi were £2k cheaper" — but it's optional. If you'd rather not answer, tap They didn't say and you're done. The quote is marked rejected either way.

Why not just dismiss the card?

Because those two mean completely different things to Mucka, and picking the wrong one costs you.

Rejected says this particular quote is dead. Mucka stops chasing that one and carries on watching the rest.

Dismiss says don't raise this with me. Do that often enough and Mucka takes the hint about quote chasing generally, and stops flagging cold quotes for the whole business — including the ones still very much alive. So when the customer has genuinely said no, always use Rejected.

Changed your mind? Re-quote it

A rejected quote isn't locked. If you go back with a lower price, just hit Resend — it goes back to the customer and Mucka starts watching it again like any other live quote.

What Mucka does with the reasons

They're kept against each quote and shown on the row, so you can see at a glance why the ones you lost went. As they build up, Mucka can tell you what's actually costing you work — whether it's price, being pipped by someone else, or turning up with a date the customer couldn't wait for.

You can also do the whole thing by just asking:

"Mark Nigel's quote rejected, they went with someone else."
