See what a customer still owes you

Opening a contact leads with what is outstanding — money that is late, a quote nobody answered, work you have booked in — instead of a contact card.

90-second video. We're recording these now.

Open a contact and the first thing you see is what is outstanding with them. The details sit underneath.

What is outstanding

Mucka works this out from what it already knows and puts it at the top:

  • Money that is late — the total across every overdue invoice, and how far past its due date the oldest one is. Several overdue invoices become one line carrying the total, because that is the number you act on.
  • A quote nobody answered — one you have sent, with how long it has been sitting there. A draft never appears here: nobody has seen it, so there is nothing to chase.
  • Work booked in — the next job you have promised them, and when it is.

Press a row and it takes you to the record it is about.

Everything carries the same weight on purpose. Which of these matters most on a given morning is your call, not ours.

When chasing is paused

If a customer is in Breathing Space — the government's Debt Respite Scheme — this list says so, and says until when.

That is there because a suppression you cannot see reads as a fault. Without it you would look at an overdue invoice, notice no reminder had gone out, and reasonably conclude Mucka was broken, when in fact it is obeying the law.

Where everything else went

Quotes, invoices and certificates are behind one Paperwork line, with the counts on it. Whatever is outstanding among them is already at the top of the page, so what is left in the fold is what has been dealt with.

Jobs stay as a full list — that is the history you scroll.

Contact details, properties and notes sit down the right-hand side, along with the buttons to start a new job, quote or invoice for that customer.

The peek and the full record

Clicking a row in your contacts list opens a peek — the same outstanding list, an overview, their recent jobs and how to reach them. View full details opens the whole record: every job, the paperwork, and every email or text you have sent them.

Both are worked out the same way, so they never tell you two different things about the same customer.

What your team sees

Anyone without permission to see quotes or invoices sees no totals here at all — not the figures, and not the rows. A subcontractor is still told about work booked in with a customer, without being told what that customer is worth.

Ask Mucka

  • "What does Margaret owe me?"
  • "Who has not paid me?"
  • "Has Sarah come back on that quote?"
