Every property in Mucka has a register of what's actually fitted there, and you can just ask.
"What boiler has John Smith got?"
"At 14 Acacia Avenue there's an Ideal Logic Combi 35 in the kitchen. At the Malmesbury Road flat, a Worcester heatslave oil combi in the garage."
If the customer has more than one address you get them separately, rather than Mucka picking one and hoping.
Where it comes from
It fills itself three ways, and you don't have to do anything for any of them:
- Certificates you approve. Every gas or oil certificate names the appliances it was carried out on, and those now go onto the register. Do a CP12 today and the boiler is on file a year later when you're asked about it.
- Anything imported. Appliances brought in from Commusoft are already there.
- JobLogic. If you run on JobLogic, the assets on each site come across on the sync.
And there's a fourth: you can put one on yourself.
What it will and won't tell you
It's good at what and where — the make, the model, and which room it's in. That's on nearly every record.
It's honest about the rest. Serial and GC numbers are only on a small number of records, because they're rarely written down on the day. When one isn't there Mucka says it isn't recorded rather than guessing.
It won't tell you how old a boiler is. Install dates are recorded on very few appliances, and guessing from a model number would be making it up. If you want to know when something was last touched, ask about the job history at that address instead. That Mucka does know.
Adding one yourself
Open the property. If nothing is recorded there yet you'll see an Appliances button sitting with New job and Directions, near the top. Once there's something on the register it becomes a proper Appliances panel with its own Add appliance button. Either way you don't have to wait for a certificate, and you don't have to raise one just to get a boiler on file.
The only thing it insists on is something to call it — a type, or a make and model. Everything else is optional: where it is, the fuel, the serial, the GC number, the flue, when it was fitted, when the warranty runs out, and any notes worth having next time somebody's stood in front of it.
Type and fuel and flue offer the usual words as you type, but they're only suggestions. If you call it a BBU fire front, Mucka keeps BBU fire front.
Correcting something
Anything you or your engineers put in, you can edit: tap the pencil next to it in the Appliances panel. Same on your phone. Clear a box and it empties — useful when a serial went in wrong and you'd rather have nothing than something misleading.
If a row shouldn't be there at all, Remove is at the bottom of the same panel, and it asks twice. Removing an appliance never touches a certificate: a certificate is a signed record of a day, with its own copy of what was there, and nothing you do on the register can change what it says.
Appliances that came across from JobLogic are read-only here, the same as your customers, sites and jobs — so they have no pencil. Change them in JobLogic and they come across on the next sync. Anything you add yourself at a JobLogic address is yours and stays put.
A certificate never overwrites something you've typed either, it only fills in blanks.
