Some work comes in with a deadline: a landlord certificate before the new tenant moves in, a service before a warranty runs out. If you've been writing "needs doing by the 26th" in the notes, put it in Due by instead, so Mucka can sort and flag it for you.
Set it on the job
When you create a job, fill in Due by under the date and time. It's optional. Leave the date empty if you're not booking it in yet: the due date is what you'll see in its place.
You can also just tell Mucka: "New job for Harbour View, landlord gas safety, needs doing by the 26th."
Where it shows
While a job isn't booked in, its due date shows:
- On the Jobs list, in the time column, where the date would be. This Week includes any that are due by Sunday or already past due, so they don't drop out of sight.
- On the job page, beside "Not booked in yet", with how long is left.
It's red once the day has passed, amber if it's due in the next seven days, and grey further out.
Once it's booked in
Book the job in and the due date gets out of the way: the date it's booked for is what matters now. It isn't deleted, so if you take the booking off again the due date comes back.
If you pick a day after the due date, the form tells you, for example "That's 8 days after it was due". You can still book it. The customer might well have agreed to it.
Find what's due
On a computer, the Jobs list has two new controls:
- Due filter: Past due, Due in the next 7 days, or Has a due date, each with how many jobs it would show.
- Due date first in the sort menu splits the list in two: jobs not booked in yet, most urgent first, then the booked ones, soonest first. Unbooked jobs with no due date go at the bottom.
Both switch the list to All Jobs, so they look through every job, not just this week's.
On the phone, tap the filter button on Jobs and pick Due. It shows the jobs not booked in yet, most urgent first. The chip only appears once a job has a due date.
Worth knowing
- A job over several days carries the same due date on every day.
- Repeating jobs keep the due date on the first visit only.
- Service plan visits don't have one. The plan decides when they're due.
