Attach a PDF to a quote

Put a 3D design, a spec sheet or a floor plan on a quote or estimate. Your customer opens it in their browser or downloads it from their online quote.

90-second video. We're recording these now.

Some quotes are won on the drawing, not the price. A 3D design of the new bathroom, the boiler's spec sheet, a floor plan of the rewire: put them on the quote and your customer has them in the same place as the price.

Add one

  1. Open the quote (or estimate) and go to Documents, just under Photos of the job.
  2. Drag the PDF onto the box, or click it and pick the file. On a phone, tap it and choose the file.
  3. Save the quote.

You can add up to five, and each can be up to 25 MB. The file keeps its own name, so call it something your customer will recognise, like "Bathroom design - option 2.pdf".

To take one off, press the ✕ beside it and save.

What your customer sees

On their online quote, under the photos, each file gets its own row with two buttons:

  • Open shows it in their browser.
  • Download saves it to their phone or computer.

The PDF of the quote and the printed copy can't carry another PDF inside them, so they list each file by name with a line telling your customer to open it on their online quote. Nobody holding the paper copy will think a file is missing.

Take a file off the quote and it stops opening from the customer's link straight away.

PDFs only

It has to be a PDF. If your design software gives you something else, save or export it as a PDF first. Most design packages, and Word, have a Save as PDF or Export as PDF option.

Pictures go under Photos of the job instead, where they show on the quote itself.

If a file is over 25 MB, export it again at a lower image quality. A file that size is slow to open on a phone anyway.
