Choose your start page and show scroll bars

On a computer, Settings → You → Display lets you pick which page Mucka opens on and switch scroll bars on. Both are just for that computer.

Settings → You → Display holds the choices about how Mucka works on the computer in front of you. There are two so far.

Start page

On a computer, Mucka opens on your Schedule. If your day starts somewhere else — the office manager who lives in Quotes, or the owner who wants Actions first thing — change Which page Mucka opens on and that's where you'll land next time you open Mucka or sign in.

You can choose from Schedule, Actions, Live Jobs, Contacts, Quotes and Invoicing. The list only shows pages you can open, so if one is missing your role doesn't include it, or the business hasn't got that skill switched on.

If you work in more than one business and switch to one where your start page isn't available, Mucka opens on Schedule instead rather than a page you can't use.

Show scroll bars

On a computer, Mucka keeps its scroll bars out of the way. Most pages show a thin line at the most, and some, like the diary, show none at all, with a soft fade at the bottom to tell you there is more.

That keeps the screen tidy, but it isn't for everyone. If you like to drag the bar to get down a long list, or you want to see at a glance that a page keeps going, turn on Show scroll bars. They appear straight away, down the side of every page, list and panel that scrolls. Turn it off and they go again.

On a Mac with Firefox, the Mac's own setting still decides whether bars stay on screen. In Chrome, Edge and Safari, Mucka keeps them showing.

Good to know

  • Nothing to save. Each choice takes effect the moment you make it.
  • It's for this computer only. The choices are kept by the browser you set them in, so the office desktop and your laptop can be different. Set them on each computer you use. Clearing your browser's data puts them back to normal.
  • Not on a phone. A phone always opens on Home, and its scroll bars appear on their own as you scroll.
  • Want everything bigger? Hold Ctrl (or ⌘ on a Mac) and press + to zoom in, − to zoom out, and 0 to go back to normal. Your browser remembers it for Mucka.
