Which trades Mucka is for

Mucka is open to heating, plumbing, air conditioning and renewables firms. Here's who that covers, and what happens if your trade isn't on the list yet.

Walkthrough coming soon
90-second video. We're recording these now.

Mucka is built for one kind of business at a time, and right now that's heating, plumbing and air conditioning.

That's a deliberate choice. The gas certificates, the boiler service reminders, the job types, the wording on the quotes: all of it is shaped round how a heating and plumbing firm actually works. Spreading thinner would make it worse for everybody, so for the moment we've stayed put.

The trades we're open to

Heating & plumbing

  • Gas Engineer
  • Heating Engineer
  • Boiler Installer
  • Plumber
  • Bathroom Fitter
  • Wet Room Specialist
  • Drainage Engineer
  • Underfloor Heating Installer

HVAC & renewables

  • HVAC Engineer
  • Air Conditioning Engineer
  • Heat Pump Installer
  • Ventilation Specialist
  • Renewable Energy Installer

If you do more than one of these, pick whichever is the bulk of your work. It only sets your starting job types and templates, and you can change it later in Settings → Business → Details, or just tell Mucka.

Where you pick it

You choose your trade on the second step of signing up, straight after your name, email and number. Pick from the dropdown and hit Continue — the two groups above sit at the top of the list.

Your job types, quote templates and invoice templates are set up from that pick before you've even logged in, so the first quote you write already has your work on it.

If your trade isn't on the list yet

You'll see a coming soon screen instead of an account, and we'll put your name, email and phone on the waiting list for your trade.

That's not a polite brush-off. It's the list we work from when we decide which trade to open up to next, so the trades with the most people waiting are the ones that get built for first. The day we open up to yours, we'll email you.

Nothing else to do, and there's nothing to pay — no account is created, so there's no trial ticking down while you wait, and you're never asked to set a password for one.

Picked the wrong trade by mistake? There's a Picked the wrong trade? button on that screen that takes you straight back to the dropdown.
