Set up the Mucka phone number

Set a PIN so you can call Mucka any time from any phone, even when your hands are full.

Walkthrough coming soon
90-second video. We're recording these now.

Mucka has a phone number you can ring. Useful when you're driving, your hands are full, or you don't want to fumble with the app. Mucka picks up, you talk, you hang up. Same Mucka as the app, just over the phone.

Set your PIN first

Phone calls to Mucka are gated by a 6-digit PIN. This stops random callers reaching your business data.

Pair your WhatsApp first (see Set up WhatsApp) — the phone PIN sits on top of your WhatsApp pairing, so it won't appear until you're paired. Once you are, head to Settings → Profile. Scroll down to the Phone PIN card.

  1. Tap Set PIN
  2. Type any 6 digits you'll remember (not 123456, not your year of birth)
  3. Confirm

That's your PIN saved. Mucka stores it hashed, not in plain text, so even support can't see it.

Call Mucka

Save the Mucka business number in your phone contacts as "Mucka", then ring it whenever:

  1. Mucka answers and asks for your PIN
  2. Type or speak your 6 digits
  3. Mucka greets you and you're in

After a successful call, your phone is trusted for 30 days. Next call from the same number skips the PIN. Reset by clearing the PIN and setting a new one.

What you can do on a Mucka call

Phone calls are read-only by design. Mucka can:

  • Answer questions about your business ("what's on tomorrow?", "did the Walkers pay?")
  • Give your morning or evening briefing
  • Look up clients, jobs, quotes, invoices
  • Suggest actions and queue them for your tap-to-approve next time you're in the app

Mucka WON'T send emails, raise invoices or modify records over the phone. Anything that affects the outside world needs an explicit approve in the app, on WhatsApp or in chat.

Lockout protection

Three failed PIN attempts and the number locks for a short window. This is to stop someone guessing PINs.

If you forget your PIN, head back to Settings → Profile → Phone PIN, clear and reset. You don't need to remember the old one.

Common gotchas

  • PIN doesn't accept the code. Type slowly, the phone can mis-hear quick taps. If you're being asked to speak the PIN and your accent gets misheard, try typing it on the phone keypad instead.
  • Trusted device, but still asked for PIN. Trust resets after 30 days, or if you change your PIN. Just enter the PIN again to re-trust.
  • Calling from a withheld number. Mucka can't trust withheld numbers, so they always have to enter the PIN. Show your number when ringing.
  • Bad reception, voice cuts out. Mucka's voice agent needs a stable connection. If you're losing signal, switch to WhatsApp voice notes instead, those tolerate signal drops better.
