Every address in Mucka is tappable. Tap the work address on a job, a client's address, or a property, and your phone's maps app opens on it, ready to drive.
You can also just ask: "give me directions to my next job" and Mucka works out the address and gives you a Directions button. It's the job's address — the property the work is at — not the customer's own address, so a landlord's or an agent's job takes you to the rental, never to their office. When you're headed to a job it'll also ask whether to mark you as travelling while it's at it — say no and you just get the route.
On Android
Mucka hands the address to Android and lets your phone decide. If you've set a default maps app, that's what opens. If you haven't, Android asks you which one and offers to remember it.
That means it works with whatever you actually use, whether that's Google Maps, Waze or something else.
On iPhone
iPhones have no equivalent "default maps app" setting, so Mucka asks you once. The first time you tap an address you'll get a short list:
- Apple Maps (built in)
- Google Maps
- Waze
Pick one and Mucka remembers it. Pick Google Maps or Waze and it opens the app if you've got it installed, or the website if you haven't.
Changing it later
On the mobile app, open Settings, go to the Device tab, and find Directions. Tap Change and pick a different one. It takes effect straight away, on that phone.
The setting is per-device on purpose. Plenty of owners run Waze in the van and Google Maps at the desk, and each engineer picks their own on their own phone.
Common gotchas
- A maps app you've uninstalled. If you picked Waze and later removed it, tapping an address opens the Waze website instead. Change the setting to fix it.
- The address won't find. Mucka hands over the address exactly as it's saved on the client or property. If the maps app lands you in the wrong street, correct the address in Mucka and it'll be right next time.
- On desktop. Tapping an address opens Google Maps in a new browser tab. There's no app to hand off to.
