Understand your plan

Solo, Team, the free plan, what you get, what it costs, when you pay. The whole subscription side in one place.

Walkthrough coming soon
90-second video. We're recording these now.

Mucka has two plans. Pick the one that matches your team size, change up or down any time. Everyone starts on a 14-day free trial, no card needed.

The plans

| Plan | Who it's for | Price | |---|---|---| | Solo | One owner working on your own | £29/month ex VAT | | Team | Owner plus engineers and admins | £39/month per user ex VAT |

Subcontractors (read-only seats for people who occasionally work with you) are free on Team. So a five-person team of two full engineers plus three subbies pays £39 x 3 = £117/month, not £39 x 5.

Pay monthly or quarterly

You can pay monthly or quarterly, and quarterly saves you 10%. It's the same plan and the same features either way. Quarterly just bills every three months at a 10% lower rate:

| | Solo | Team (per user) | |---|---|---| | Monthly | £29/month | £39/month | | Quarterly | £78.30/quarter | £105.30/quarter |

Pick monthly or quarterly on the Settings → Billing screen before you add your card. To switch between them later, open Manage subscription on that same screen.

What you get on both

Every plan includes the full Mucka:

  • AI engine: voice, chat, WhatsApp, phone
  • Quotes, jobs, invoices, payments
  • Live engineer tracking on the map
  • All the skills you turn on
  • Unlimited clients, jobs and invoices

Team adds: more than one user, role-based permissions, team-wide scheduling and briefings, free subbie seats.

See your current plan

Head to Settings → Billing. You'll see:

  • Plan name (Solo or Team)
  • Status (Trial, Active, Past Due, Cancelling, Paused, Free)
  • Seat count (Team only)
  • Price ex and inc VAT, labelled Monthly or Quarterly to match your plan
  • Next renewal date

Trial accounts also see "Trial ends on [date]" so you know when payment kicks in.

Signing up and paying in the app

You can sign up and subscribe to the Solo plan right inside the iOS or Android app. Your 14-day free trial starts with no card needed, and when it ends the app shows a subscribe screen so you can pay through the App Store or Google Play. To change or cancel later, tap Manage subscription on the Billing screen, which takes you to your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Team plans are set up on a computer. Adding teammates moves you onto per-seat billing, which is handled on the Mucka dashboard in your web browser. If you tap to add someone in the app, Mucka points you to do it there. Once you're on a team plan, everyone still signs in and uses the app as normal.

Going from Solo to Team

On the web, add your first engineer (see Add an engineer to your team) and Mucka moves you onto the Team plan. The next bill includes the extra seats from the day you added them, pro-rated. If you started on the app's Solo plan, you switch to the team plan on the web when you're ready to grow.

Going from Team back to Solo

Remove all teammates from Settings → Team and the next bill drops to Solo. You stay on Team for the rest of the billing month.

Free trial

Every new account gets 14 days on full Team-level features (so you can add teammates and try the lot). On day 15, Mucka asks you to subscribe to keep going, with a card on the web or through the App Store or Google Play if you signed up in the app. No card needed up front.

If your trial ends without a card, your workspace pauses for 14 days. Nothing is deleted. During that window the owner can add a card to switch everything straight back on, or move to the free plan (below). Do nothing and after 14 days we move you to the free plan automatically. See Update payment details.

The free plan

The free plan keeps your account open for as long as you like, as a simple job book. You keep all your data, plus:

  • Your jobs, clients, quotes and invoices, still editable
  • Manual quoting and invoicing (Quick Quotes)
  • A light Mucka AI allowance (30 replies a month)

Switched off on the free plan (they all come straight back when you upgrade):

  • The proactive engine (flags, briefings, chasing, suggested actions)
  • Your integrations (Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, calendars, WhatsApp)
  • Voice and the phone agent
  • The premium skills (your existing records stay viewable, you just can't create new ones)
  • Extra team members go read-only until you upgrade

Upgrade any time to switch it all back on, right where you left off.

Common gotchas

  • Prices ex VAT. UK customers pay 20% VAT on top at checkout. Your invoice from Mucka shows the VAT breakdown.
  • Quarterly saves 10%. Same plan, billed every three months at a 10% lower rate. Pick it on the Billing screen. Yearly billing isn't offered today.
  • Comp / Complimentary status. Some accounts have free access for special arrangements. If your status says "Comp" you don't pay anything, contact support if you have questions.
  • Per-user means per-active-user. Disabled or invited-but-not-accepted seats don't count. Mucka bills you for the active humans on the team.
